Anna Belia

Ms Belia graduated at ELTE university, Budapest Faculty of Arts in French and Spanish language and literature,  at the College of International Management and Business Studies, and at Corvinus University as lobby expert. She worked as a language teacher, translator, journalist, dramaturge. Between 1972 and 1984she worked in the Hungarian Institute of Theatre, in the József Attila Theatre and in the Hungarian Television. Between 1984 and 1990 she was employed by the Interpress Magazin as a journalist, taught French in New York between 1990-1992. In 1994-95 she was the manager of the secretariat of  the Minister of Culture. From 1995 to 2006 she was part of the staff of the Hungarian Soros Foundation, where from 2001-on she was the director. She took on an active, leading role in the formation of the Roma strategy of the Foundation.

Now she is retired and is a translator again. She serves as the chair of the board of the Primavera Foundation for the Health of Women.
